CATHERINE WALKER

I'm Catherine, I am 18 years old and rising freshman in college attending Tufts University in Boston, MA. I will be studying psychology, entrepreneurship, and nutrition studies in order to pursue a career in the food allergy world.

 

I am allergic to dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and latex. When  I was only a few months old, my parents found out about my food allergies after I had a reaction to the egg-based flu shot. Since then, I have found a passion for creating allergy friendly recipes and advocating for food allergies on social media. 

 

Cooking has become a way for me to advocate for allergy friendly and healthy eating. I have always cooked at home with my family as opposed to eating at restaurants, so developing my own allergy friendly recipes led me to publishing Cook It Up in 2018. Cook It Up has opened countless doors for me and allowed me to find a passion for food allergy advocacy.

 

My goal is to show that food allergies don't have to limit your creativity in the kitchen and cooking healthy recipes with whole foods makes navigating food allergies easier. I share my experiences and life living with severe food allergies to advocate and support for the food allergy community.
